History

The Mock Parliament began in July 2024, with the idea created by Abhinav Maheshwari. He brought the idea to reality, creating the first Mock Parliament at Westcliff High School for Boys. In addition, he recruited 2 other members to be his first admins, Oliver Lind and Aaron Austin.

On Febuary 14 2025, WHSB had Mr David Burton-Sampson, MP for Southend West and Leigh, come into the school to talk to members of the Mock Parliament. As a result, the club grew massively, and the admins started setting their eyes on growing their membership

And so on Month x 20xx, the admins created the second Mock Parliament at Southend High School for Boys, marking the beginning of the Mock Parliament franchise

What is the Mock Parliament?

The Mock Parliament seeks to empour young people and get them into both debating and politics, mimicing parliament to the best of our abilities
